Mission Statement:

The mission of the Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness is to:

  1. assist the UTHSC-H in developing a university wide assessment effort of degree programs, departments, centers and schools within the institution and
  2. inform the UTHSC-H administration of demographic trends related to students and staff, by coordinating institutional effectiveness efforts and serving as the sources of record for UTHSC-H statistics for administration, faculty, staff and students.
Goals and Objectives:

Our primary goal is to conduct self-assessment and evaluation studies for all UTHSC-Houston degree programs, centers, and schools.  As part of this goal, our department objective is to continue to perform benchmark studies related to evaluating the effectiveness of all areas of the UTHSC-Houston. Our secondary goals include assisting various schools and areas of UTHSC-Houston by performing proprietary management studies, coordination of institutional effectiveness issues in reports for academic accreditation and federal reporting requirements, promoting credibility and visibility of our program within the institution, outside peer groups, and other area health science centers, and continuing to develop methods of assessment of program outcomes.
