Correction of Failure to maintain Patient Confidentiality

The Harris County Psychiatric Center (HCPC) respects the privacy of every patient. Patients expect that the information that they give to their health care providers will remain confidential and protected.

Upon notification of or realization of an unauthorized release of confidential patient information, the department head will take corrective action(s) to rectify the situation including, but not limited to, additional training for the individual with regards to PHI and/or realignment of operational duties.  HCPC will comply with actions listed in section 10 of the HIPPA policies located with the UTHSC-H Privacy Office.
