W. Dennie Clemons, is a Speech Recognition Technologist in Telecommunications, General Administration. Dennie began her term Sept. 1 as Chair of the FY08 University Classified Staff Council.

The Chair-elect is Jeanie Mullin, an Senior Administrative Coordinator in Neurology, UT Medical School. Suzanne Paramore, who headed the Elections Subcommittee of UCSC last year, is this year's secretary, and Perry Ball is this year's treasurer.

Subcommittee chairs are:

• Lavone Moore, Scholarship
• Vacant, Staff Development
• Sandra Marroquin, Staff Recognition

Additional Appointed Positions include:

• James Hightower, parliamentarian
• Perry Ball, web master

The University Classified Staff Council (UCSC) Silent Auction will be part of the festivities at the Founders' Fun Fest, Friday, Oct. 5 . The auction raises scholarship funds to be awarded to children of classified employees. In the past several years, the UCSC has awarded 5-7 scholarships a year through this program as funding has allowed.

The council asks all health science center leaders, faculty and classified staff to consider making a donation. It could be an item, a gift certificate to your favorite restaurant or a monetary gift. The silent auction is a great way to help make a young person's dream come true.
