Members are identified and confirmed annually by university leadership and include
At least one representative who is responsible for the administration of academic programs from each of the six schools of UT-Houston.
Interested faculty and staff who are actively engaged in using technology to enhance teaching and learning and/or who are actively involved in distance learning.
Technical and administrative advisors who can advise on UT-Houston capabilities and potential capabilities.

There are no fixed terms of membership.
Charge
Generally, to advise university leadership on the university's strategic directions with regard to integration of digital technology into academic programs. Specific responsibilities include the following:
Defining UT-Houston's requirements for academic computing, both immediate and anticipated for the future, including hardware, software, support staff, local and wide area network connections, reference materials, and site licenses.
Planning educational and training opportunities for faculty and staff in digital media and learning.
Developing a broad-based, high-level plan to address the university's strategies for competing in an increasingly technology-based academic culture.
Encouraging faculty and staff to develop and implement new or enhanced academic programs using a variety of digital media.
Reviewing the academic computing portion of the yearly plan submitted to the Legislative Budget Review, to assure that present and anticipated future needs of academic computing are incorporated into the university's plans.
