CLICK on the Next > button to continue on
In the Full Name: text window, type in
your Full name just as you would like to see it in print. This name
will be associated with your e-mail address below.
In the Email Address (if available) text window, type in your E-mail name as provided on your documentation followed by @uth.tmc.edu. e.g. Jane.C.Doe@uth.tmc.edu. You may give this address out to others who wish to exchange e-mail with you. With this address, anyone in the world can send you e-mail via the Internet. Remember that there are no spaces and the address is not case sensitive, i.e. upper and lower case characters are not distinguishable by the mail server.
In the Profile name: text field, you can
type in your first name or full name, this should be already done for you
by the system. The profile name is only used if more than one person
uses Netscape on the same PC. In this case, when the Netscape Communicator
is started, a User Profile window will appear that asks the user to identify
themselves to the program so that the users default settings for e-mail
etc. are loaded. After typing your response to the profile name,
click the Next > button.
The Outgoing mail [SMTP] server: text box should contain mail.uth.tmc.edu, if not, type the information in at this time and then click the Next > button.
In the Mail server user name: text box type in your userid as provided in your documentation from UT if it is not already there. In the Incoming Mail Server: text box type mail.uth.tmc.edu, choose IMAP or POP3 and then click the Next > button.
Lastly, in the News [NNTP] server: text box, type in news.uth.tmc.edu if it is not there already then click Finish. Netscape Communicator will start with your configuration for e-mail etc. If you have questions regarding the use of the program, Netscape has provided excellent help documents provided in Help pull down menu.
At this time Netscape has been installed and configured and you are
ready to receive Email and browse the WEB. Remember that you MUST
connect to the Network via Dialup Networking First
in order to retrieve any new Email or connect to any WEB servers.
